How to Generate Repeat Traffic

If you work from home online you probably have a website up and running. And you may already have a decent amount of traffic. Now you want to encourage those visitors to come back.

Many popular websites rely on repeat traffic for growth. Turning loyal visitors into good customers is easier than new visitors. Why? Because this repeat traffic has become familiar with your site and your product. They begin to know and trust you.

But what can you do to keep them coming back? A static website just doesn't cut it. New information, new offers, new experiences - that is the bait that you need to lure those customers back.

Here are a few methods you can use to begin to generate repeat traffic:

Active Forums

Providing your customers with a place to interact and share their knowledge can work very well for some markets. A forum is just the answer. Not only will it keep the visitors coming back but it also fosters a sense of community and trust in you.

Start A Blog
This one is a no-brainer. Posting a new thought or update on a daily or weekly basis will make people check back in. If your content is concise and informative traffic will build and continue to flow.

Conduct a Poll
People want to be heard. But they may not want to invest the time inregistering for and writing a post on a forum. For those who are time crunched, a poll is an excellent alternative. Here they can just click a button and cast their vote. Often they will return to see the results and enter another poll that you may be offering.

Conduct a Giveaway
Everybody loves something for nothing. If you offer to give it away - they will come. And they will come back to see if they won. Finding something to give away isn't so hard either. If you do not have your own product - contact manufacturer's in your niche. They will often want the free publicity and will offer up one of their own products as incentive.

Update Constantly
Nothing turns people off like stale content. The more often you add new stuff, the more return visitors you will get. Often, when we start our work from home jobs, we are "gung ho" and offer fresh and fantastic content. But as time goes on, our enthusiasm wanes. This could spell disaster for new website. If you have writer's block, just scan the day's headlines for something relevant and post a short comment to get you through the day.
